A Conversation with Mike Martin
Founder of RAWTools, Mike Martin, joined the Student Leadership Network in January of 2024 for an honest conversation about gun violence, especially in a US context. Mike encouraged student ministry leaders to have good conversations with their students and to work towards our churches being healthy places for people to have difficult conversations.
A Conversation with Bishop Steven Tighe
In December 2023, Bishop Steven Tighe of the Diocese of the Southwest joined the Student Leadership Network for a conversation about Anglican Student Ministry. Steven is a lifelong youth worker, who also brings a unique perspective as a bishop. He shared personal stories and practical advice for student ministry leaders.

The Student Leadership Network hosted a conversation dedicated to adult leaders in November of 2023. SLN Director Aaron Buttery shared his firsthand ministry experience along with a helpful framework for why adult leaders are important to student ministry.

“I have really enjoyed participating in these monthly Zoom calls with other youth leaders! It’s been a breath of fresh air, reminding me I’m not alone in youth ministry. I’ve appreciated the connections I’ve made with other youth ministers in the Province. And it’s nice to have a chance to reflect on how I’m doing and share that with others in a non-threatening, safe environment.”
